1. Built-In Algae Resistance
We embed special algae resistant granules into IKO Marathon Plus AR shingles to help inhibit the growth of blue-green algae that can cause unattractive black stains, streaks and discoloration.
IKO Marathon Plus AR is a time-tested, traditional 3-tab roofing shingle. Its weather-resistant design is based on a solid construction of durable fiberglass mat to help shield homes against the forces of nature. The classic design of IKO Marathon Plus AR will flatter any style of home. The algae-resistant granules embedded into these shingles will help control the black streaks caused by blue-green algae and keep them looking great for years to come.
It’s easy to find a 3-tab roofing shingle you’ll love. IKO’s manufacturing plants throughout North America use the same advanced, computer-controlled technology to ensure that all its asphalt roofing shingles are consistent in color, size, shape and quality.

Our 3-tab roofing shingles are built to last, thanks to their solid construction, flexible fiberglass mat and weather-resistant design. And, because they come in a metric size that’s larger than many comparable shingles in their class, they’re faster and easier to install.
Many homeowners choose our traditional 3-tab shingles to replace the roof on other types of out-buildings, from tool sheds and gazebos to dog houses! Easy to install and economically priced.
