1. Class 4 Impact Resistance Rating.*
Heavy-weight construction and IKO’s own modified asphalt act as a shock absorber to help cushion the impact of hail.
*This rating is solely for the purpose of enabling residential property owners to obtain a reduction in their residential insurance premium, if available. This is not a guarantee of impact resistance against hail. Damage from hail is not covered under the limited warranty.
2. Built-in Algae Resistance.
We embed copper-coated granules into our shingles to help inhibit the growth of blue-green algae that can cause unattractive black stains, streaks and discoloration.
3. An Exceptional Bonding Experience.
Our shingles have IKO FastLockTM sealant strips along their bottom edge to help prevent wind-driven rain from getting underneath them. When activated by the sun’s heat, these strips become extra-tacky to create an even stronger bond that helps ensure maximum protection against wind uplift, blow-off and water penetration.
4. Tough to the Core.
The strength of our shingles starts within thanks to our resilient fiberglass mat, coated top and bottom with weathering asphalt, then surfaced with colored granules.
5. Extra Coating of Weathering Asphalt.
IKO’s own modified asphalt provides exceptional flexibility to help resist the ravages of high wind, driving rain, snow, ice and temperature extremes.
Your home is probably one of the biggest investments you’ll ever make.
It’s important to protect that investment, whether you plan to stay and enjoy it yourself or wish to boost its curb appeal to potentially add value when you sell it. Either way, IKO Crowne Slate asphalt shingles will add comfort, value and a look of distinction to your property.
